Robotics Club
Tuesdays (12:15 – 13:15)
College is expanding its robotics program with the addition of two Robomaster Robots to our
existing collection of VEX Robots. These cutting-edge tools open the door to incredible
opportunities for hands-on learning, creativity, and teamwork. These competitions challenge
participants to design, build, and program innovative robots to complete exciting tasks,
fostering skills in engineering, coding, and problem-solving.

WorldSkills UK Competitions are back!

The competitions are designed by industry experts and help young people grow personally and
professionally by developing their technical and employability skills.
Bedford College, along with the Computing Department, is eager to sponsor anyone interested in
participating. If you'd like to join, simply complete the College registration form.

Grand opening of the Digital Hub
January 29 2025
We are thrilled to announce the grand opening of our new Digital Hub, located in the
LRC.Computing students spent the morning with Extreme Networks who delivered several interesting
talks, and ran competitions to win a variety of prizes. The representatives from Extreme
Networks were very impressed by the students who participated, and particularly those students
who confidently delivered presentations during a 'Dragon's Den' style competition to design a
smartwatch.

T-Levels Award
December 05 2024
Umaya Ali, a T-Level Student took home the T-Level Student of the Year in Computing award. She
battled off strong competition from a number of other students, but her tenacity, dedication and
her drive to improve the course for her peers outlined her as a clear winner. It's extremely
well deserved, and we're all proud of her achievements in her T-Level qualification.

difference. Any food items with long shelf life would be greatly appretiated.

Students of the Year Awards ceremony

The prestigious event, which was supported by Platinum Sponsor Aegis Support Services and Silver
Sponsor
Mindful Education, celebrated seventeen separate awards, plus the award for Outstanding Student
of the
Year which was won by Ifrat Kaium, who is studying for a Pearson BTEC Level 2 First Extended
Certificate
in Information and Creative Technology.

Conference for our
department.The conference was put together by Anil S. and the Computing Department. It has hold
a diverse
range of topics from the benefits of the apprentices.
